Mata Prem Kaur( Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Uppalheriwaale’s mother) felt eternal happiness, by giving away the best clothes in the home like Fulkaaris, blankets, bed sheets, or any other suit/cloth etc to any needy place that needed it more than her, all through her youth after her marriage.
1. Mata ji would always wear simple clothes.
2. Taking out a fraction out of the cereals in the home, Mata ji would feed the birds.
3. She would keep water in earthen pots for the birds.
4. Mata ji would do the Ardaas and perform the Bhog ceremony after cooking up meals, only then would she serve it to her family.
Bhai Dhyaan Singh Majriwaale’s jeewan (life) had a great impact on Baba Kahan Singh Ji’s jeewan. For Baba Kahan Singh’s birthpace was Kakron in district Ropar which was in close proximity to Majri (Bhai Dhyaan Singh’s village). Like Bhai Dhyaan Singh Ji, Baba Kahan Singh Jialso did Sewa of travelling Sangat with after setting in village Uppalheri with utmost enthusiasm.
Mata Prem Kaur Ji would herself grind flour for Sangat. Even today the family is known for this Sewa.
This has been greatly appreciated by Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, Sant Giani Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, and Sant Baba Thakur Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.
These selfless services had a great impact on the mind of young (Sant Giani)Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Uppalheriwale.
Mahapurakh Ji would himself encourage and instruct the Sangat for the Sewa of Langar for Fathegarh Sahib’s annual congregation in the remembrance of Sahibzadas.
Whever Mata Prem Kaur Ji would see just-born dog’s puppies in Muhaaraas of maize’s Bands, out of compassion she would return home. She would then return and with Choori made of bread of gram flour, ghee and jagery, and would feed the mother bitch with it, so that she could be able to feed her little puppies.
